The vacuum insulation panel (VIP) is designed and manufactured in our own factory, which can meet the highest thermal protection standard of your product even under extreme environmental conditions.
VIP is a kind of thermal insulation panel, and its thermal insulation performance is ten times higher than that of traditional thermal insulation materials. VIP is a vacuum airtight heat insulation panel with excellent heat insulation performance. The core material is composed of compressed powder board of fumed silica, which is flame retardant. It is sealed with a gas tight film under vacuum. By forming a vacuum, gas conduction is eliminated.

• Excellent thermal efficiency: VIPs provide an insulating performance that has a significant improvement over other commonly available insulation materials. Because they rely on the insulation property of a vacuum they can easily achieve low U-values with minimum thickness. • Ideal for upgrading insulation during refurbishment. When upgrading, thermal performance in an existing building, it can often be hard to fit more insulation without adding to construction thickness, which might reduce the amount of daylight into the building or extending the eaves but with VIPs this can be overcome due to the thin nature of the insulation. • Reliable long term performance over life time of building. • Fits in tight spaces for new builds. VIPs are the perfect solution in areas where lack of construction space or thickness is an issue, for example, better insulation can be achieved on a floor without the need to raise skirting boards or radiators and without changing the floor level; excavating the floor or adding in a step at a doorway when adding in a new extension or balcony. • Sleek design. Having to incorporate large amounts of space for insulation can often compromise the look and feel of a building, but with VIPs, the same levels of insulation can be achieved with much thinner insulation. Difficult areas, such as dormer windows or balconies which may have gone uninsulated because of lack of space available, can be insulated without having to alter the design of the building.

Q:How a vacuum slows down heat transfer?
A:There are three modes of heat transfer: conduction, convection, and radiation, and if we remove most of the air molecules from a space-as occurs when we draw a vacuum-we largely eliminate the first two of those heat transfer mechanisms. Conduction is the flow of heat from molecule to molecule. It's the reason a cast iron skillet handle heats up, but thermal conduction also occurs across a layer of air, as kinetic is transferred from one air molecule to the one next to it. If we remove most of those air molecules by creating a vacuum, there will far less conductive heat flow. Convection is the transfer of heat by moving molecules from one place to another. Warm air rises, and these convection currents carry heat-for example, this is the primary means that heat is delivered to a room from baseboard convectors (often called radiators). In a vacuum there are far fewer air molecules so convection of heat nearly stops.
Q:Is it possible to work with vacuum insulation panels the same way as with conventional insulation materials?
A:The high barrier film around the vacuum panel should not be damaged. If the plastic film is punctured and air flows in, the thermal conductivity rises up to 0.020 W/mK. Therefore it is not possible to cut vacuum panels to the appropriate size on site. Equally it is not possible to puncture them with dowels or similar items. Beside these limitations, vacuum panels can be glued to other surfaces or integrated into different constructions with appropriate covers.

Q:Is it possible to make curved vacuum insulation panels?

A:In general, thin vacuum panels can be bent into cylindrical forms within some limitations. The thinner the panel, the smaller the possible curvature radii. Regular vacuum panels cannot be formed into complex forms with two-dimensional curvatures like spherical parts or similarily complicated shapes. However, new technologies allow us to produce more complex shapes, even panels with holes. Please contact us for details if you have special requirements.

Q:Up to what temperatures can vacuum panels be used?
A:The microporous filling can sustain temperatures of up to 900 °C without damage. The outer plastic barrier film, however, can tolerate temperatures up to 80°C, but at permanently applied temperatures above about 40°C to 50°C significantly more air gases and water vapor passes through than at room temperature. This limits the duration of the application.

Q:Are vacuum panels sensitive to humidity?
A:Short term exposures of high humidity don't cause any problems to the used films of the vacuum panels. However they should not be exposed to high humidity for longer periods of time, especially in combination with high temperatures. Therefore, it is advisable to install humidity barriers in such a way that the vacuum insulation panels are kept dry.
